Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

We've had a pretty bland month due to the excessive amount of rain we have had this month. It's been like 20 out 0f the past 29 days, today included! We did manage to hit up the Pumpkin Patch a couple of times in between storms. Hayden's first introduction to pumpkins went great--he was only 3 1/2 weeks old though, as you can see.


The second time around it was all we could do to get him near the pumpkins. Unfortunately, Sabrina and I weren't able to get a more redeeming picture of Hayden and Emerson this year enjoying pumpkins due to the weather. Maybe on Friday in their costumes!


Our trips to the patch were muddy but fun this year. We went once with several PTA friends and then back again with the daddy, although we didn't get a picture of us all together! Hayden had a much better time this year playing with the pumpkins and seeing all the cartoon cut outs!

The mini pumpkins were a hit--did you know you can throw them in the bucket? Once one starts up, they all follow!

On our trip back to the Pumpkin Patch with Greg, we checked out some animals to tide over a small tantrum. What it was over we never found out--that's a 2 year old for ya, I guess!

Like I said, we never did get a photo of us together, so just image and blend the pictures! Hayden was reaching for the camera in the one picture, since someone other than me was touching it! He has rules you know about that kind of thing.

Hayden and I rode the little tractor train around the fields. He wasn't so sure at first but then had a great time.

Even better was that Cousin David was the tractor driver. Super fun!

We carved the pumpkin tonight and made pumpkin cookies earlier today, but that's all until more picture and stories on candy and dress up day!

Happy Birthday Hayden!!

Well, the time has really flown by...Hayden turned 2 last Friday! He is really starting to turn into a little boy. He is doing great at school, and he is really starting to say more new words and string a few together. He is still very tall but he has thinned out a lot. He loves all things with wheels, balls, puzzles, and reading his books. He likes to play in water but still not with the sandbox he got for his birthday last year! On that note, he is doing better with touching and dealing with things that feel different...he's actually painted at school. He also enjoys jumping and dancing to his favorite songs and TV commercials!


The birthday this year was so much more fun for him than last year. He actually likes to eat cake now, but not the frosting, and he LOVED opening presents. I'll say for him that some present were much more fun than others!! He had a busy weekend of partying and playing with all of the family and then all of his friends. On Friday we celebrated with all of my family, and Greg's parents joined in on Saturday. He is really into trucks and the like, so we did a small construction theme.

I tested out my cake decorating skills with a dump truck design.

He thinks that you blow things with your nose!!

Like I said, presents were king this year...not just the paper and ribbon anymore. He was super excited to get his car race track!

He has also really caught onto 'cooking' in the new kitchen. He enjoys pretending to get water and ice out of the little dispenser!

He had his first real birthday party with his 12 good friends friends on Sunday afternoon at Gymboree Play and Music. He has been going to Gymboree since he was 6 months, so it was the perfect place. Everyone has such a great time playing and running around! We rounded out the evening with pizza and cupcakes! His party was filled with images of his favorite friends...the Backyardigans!!

We're so happy to have such a happy and healthy little boy. We can't wait to see what he does next and how much he will change and grow over the next year!
